About me
Asia Grant ’17 Bus (Schreyer) is a creative entrepreneur and content creator. She co-founded an award-winning fragrance brand, Redoux, in 2019 with fellow Penn State alum Alejandro Cuevas ’18 IST (Schreyer). Their products provide a “sophisticated scents and vegan skincare for the modern nostalgic.” Asia is responsible for nearly every aspect of the business for this boutique label, from product design and market research to fundraising and revenue strategy. She also created the hospitality brand Scent Social Club, which hosts the Nolita Perfume Tour, a perfumer lead fragrance tour through New. York to match people with their signature scent.
Asia previously worked on Redoux as a side hustle while working fulltime as a user experience researcher and consultant, first at IBM and then Capco before committing to it full time in 2020. While at Penn State, Asia was involved in the Presidential Leadership Academy and studied abroad in the Milan, Italy and Seoul, South Korea. Her research on Korean cosmetic marketing led to her honors thesis and to the plan for her current company. She is also a published children’s author, with Poncho the Llama hitting shelves in 2017.
In 2024, Redoux received the Essence Beauty Award and the Ebony Magazine Beauty Award for Fragrance. In 2022, her company was selected to participate in the McKinsey & Company 1B Accelerator program. She also earned the Architectural Digest Cleverest Award in both 2021 and 2022.
In 2021, she was named one of the six founders under 30 paving the future of the beauty industry by WWD magazine. In 2020, Redoux was chosen as part of the inaugural class of the Glossier Grant for Black-owned businesses, selected as one of the top 16 companies from a pool of 10,000 applicants. That same year, Redoux participated in Facebook’s Holiday Season campaign and was recognized by Sheryl Sandberg as a top performer on the Facebook Q4 Earnings Call.
Redoux has been featured in numerous prestigious publications, including The New York Times, Vogue, GQ, W Magazine, Allure, and more. Over her career, she has collaborated with Google, Nike, Instagram, Clinique, and other leading brands. Asia is an incredibly active volunteer at Penn State. She is currently the outgoing immediate past president of the Scholar Alumni Society, where she served as President from 2019-2021, guiding critical volunteer efforts in the Schreyer Honors College during the COVID-19 pandemic and focusing on creating a more inclusive alumni experience. Asia also represented the Society on Alumni Council in this period, including a term on the Executive Board in 2020-2021. She was the inaugural guest on the Schreyer podcast, Following the Gong. Asia is a regular speaker at Schreyer and Smeal events such as Connect, Powerful Women Paving the Way Conference, and brand marketing lectures , mentoring aspiring entrepreneurs across Penn State.
Asia received her bachelor of science in marketing from the Smeal College of Business with honors from the Schreyer Honors College in 2017. She lives in New York, NY.
